Riad Karmela Princesse

An Oasis of Peace

Few years ago I have spent a week in Morocco. If you need to organise your trip and need some tips head to my travel guide here.

If you need some inspiration to book a low key luxury and welcoming riad you are in the right place. Among the 3 riads I visited while in Marrakesh the Riad Karmela Princesse is without a doubt the one that most impressed me for its design.

What I loved about the Karmela Princesse Riad

The interior first of all. The design is just beyond amazing. A joy for the eyes. The rooms are all decorated in a unique way - the one whee we stayed also had access to the terrace with a private patio where you can have tea and local pastries.

Also, being gay in Morocco is still illegal. In addition to all the moral and ethical issues that this raise, LGBT people that still decide to go to Morocco have to compromise between hiding themselves and trying to open up with locals to try and challenge their mindsets.

I also tried to open up and discuss the issue with some locals. You can read my full article on travelling to Morocco as a LGBT couple here.

I can definitely say from experience that at the Riad Karmela Princesse you will feel welcome and accepted no matter your sexual orientation.

Enjoy it :)
